IPL Therapy
Put Back the Glow on Your Skin with IPL Therapy
If you want to diminish visible damage to your skin caused by sun exposure or reduce pigmentation issues that appear as we age, such as burst capillaries, age spots and rosacea, then the IPL Laser benefits may be the right treatment for you.
IPL uses light energy to target a certain color in your skin. When the skin is heated, your body gets rid of the unwanted cells, and that gets rid of the thing you are being treated for.
Unlike lasers, an IPL device sends out more than one wavelength of pulsating light. It can treat a range of skin conditions at the same time.
After IPL, you may look younger because your skin tone is more even and since the light doesn’t hurt other tissues, you are able to heal quicker.
What is an IPL Photofacial?
Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, also known as photofacial, is a way to improve the color and texture of your skin without going under the knife. It can undo some of the visible damage caused by sun exposure — called photoaging.
IPL has been known to help those with red, brown or splotchy skin because of a health condition.
IPL Cost
The cost of IPL varies depending on the individual, so we recommend a complimentary consultation with our medical provider to determine the cost.
What is the IPL Photofacial Treatment Like?
An FDA-cleared treatment that efficiently reverses the signs of aging and undesirable pigmentation, the Intense Pulsed Light, can treat areas of uneven skin tone on your face, chest, arms, hands and back.
Uneven skin tone and signs of sun damage can be reversed in as little as 1-2 treatments, leaving you with revitalized, even-toned skin. Three to four weeks is the recommended time interval between IPL treatments.
IPL Laser treatments are customized to treat your skin concerns and can be used in combination with other skin-retexturing treatments to achieve maximum results. One session of IPL takes between 30 to 90 minutes, depending on the skin being treated.
Things to Consider Before Getting the Treatment
- IPL skin treatments cannot be performed on skin that is tanned or burned from sun exposure. Please avoid direct sunlight and tanning beds before the treatment.
- Self-tanner should not be used two weeks prior to your IPL skin treatment.
- Discontinue the use of any topical prescription medications (such as Retin-A, Triluma, Differin) five days before treatment. To achieve maximum results, your provider may recommend another resurfacing treatment, such as a chemical Peeling, dermaplaning or micro needling in conjunction with an IPL skin treatment.
