Many women wish for beautiful, accentuated breasts to enhance their figure. Some women want their breasts to be larger, while others are bothered by their overly large or sagging breasts. Men often want a flat, toned chest, but they can develop excess fat and breast tissue that resembles women’s breasts.
Whether you are looking to achieve larger, smaller, or more lifted female breasts or a firmer male chest contour, Dr. Sadeghi is here to help. He offers various cosmetic breast procedures to help achieve your desired breast and chest aesthetics.
In addition to the breast surgeries discussed on this page, Dr. Sadeghi offers reconstructive breast procedures, cosmetic facial surgery, and body sculpting procedures.
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation surgery uses implants or fat grafting to create larger, fuller breasts. Women who want breast implants can choose between saline or silicone gel. While implants are the most common breast augmentation technique, fat grafting is becoming increasingly popular. This procedure takes unwanted fat from other areas of their body using liposuction and injects the fat into the breasts for enhancement and improved size and contour.
Most breast augmentation patients are fully recovered in about six weeks. If you work a desk job, you can return to work one week after surgery. Those with jobs that require strenuous activity may need to take a few more days off.
Breast augmentation results are intended to be long lasting, but implants may need to be replaced at some point in the future. Significant weight fluctuations will affect the results of fat grafting.
Breast Lift
Over time, women’s breasts can sag due to natural aging, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. Breast lift surgery raises and reshapes the breasts to create a perky, firm appearance. This procedure can also improve nipple projection and areola size.
A breast lift can be done as a standalone procedure, but it is often combined with breast augmentation or breast reduction for those looking to change the size of their breasts.
Most breast lift patients can return to work anywhere from two days to two weeks after their breast lift. However, this will depend on how quickly your body heals.
Breast lift results are intended to be permanent, but natural aging and future pregnancy can cause additional sagging. To prolong your results after a breast lift, maintain a healthy weight and wear a supportive bra. Ideal breast lift candidates are done having children, are at or near their ideal weight, and have realistic expectations of their results.
Breast Reduction
Overly large breasts can cause poor posture, neck and back pain, emotional distress, and skin irritation. Women with breasts that are very large often have trouble fitting into clothing and experience chronic pain that makes normal daily activities difficult.
Breast reduction surgery removes excess fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts to reduce their size. This surgery helps women achieve more comfortable, pleasing breasts that can increase their confidence and overall happiness.
During breast reduction recovery, most patients need one week off from work and school. Strenuous activity can typically be resumed after one month.
If you maintain your weight and avoid future pregnancy, your breast reduction results will be relatively permanent.
Breast Revision
Women who undergo breast augmentation with implants are often satisfied with their results for many years. However, a woman may wish to have her implants removed or replaced due to a complication, dissatisfactory results, or preference changes as she’s aged.
Breast revision surgery is a secondary breast procedure that removes or replaces breast implants in addition to restoring the appropriate size and appearance of the breasts. Women who wish for a different implant size or implant placement may have new implants placed during their breast revision surgery. Occasionally, implant replacement with a lift and fat grafting is necessary to achieve the best results.
Some women no longer wish to have implants and may choose to combine their breast revision with a breast lift or fat grafting to enhance their breast size, shape, and projection.
After undergoing breast revision, you should plan to take one to two weeks off work and other responsibilities to recover.
En Bloc Capsulectomy
After breast augmentation, a scar tissue capsule develops around the implant as a natural response to the foreign object. Women undergoing breast implant removal may need to also have the scar tissue capsule removed (a procedure known as a capsulectomy).
An en bloc capsulectomy is a technique that removes the breast implant and surrounding tissue capsule as one entity. This minimizes damage to other areas of the breast. Although an en bloc capsulectomy is more complicated than some other breast implant removal techniques, it can be beneficial for women experiencing breast implant illness symptoms or other complications.
Many women can return to work within 10 days of their en bloc capsulectomy. However, patients with more strenuous jobs should talk to Dr. Sadeghi about when it is safe to resume working.
Gynecomastia Surgery
Many men suffer from gynecomastia, a condition that causes overdeveloped male breast tissue. For some, this condition is impossible to treat with diet and exercise, and it often leads to self-esteem issues and embarrassment.
Gynecomastia surgery (also known as male breast reduction) removes excess fat, glandular tissue, and/or skin from the male chest. This surgery corrects enlarged male breasts (sometimes referred to as “man boobs”) to create a more contoured, masculine chest appearance.
Liposuction, excision techniques, or a combination of these can be used depending on the cause of gynecomastia. Fat banking is performed, where the fat removed from the chest or other parts of the body is injected back into the chest to achieve a more masculine look with enhancement of the pectoralis muscles and shoulders.
Gynecomastia patients may return to work one to two weeks after surgery. Strenuous activity should be avoided for a few weeks.
The results of gynecomastia surgery are intended to be permanent. Living a healthy lifestyle can help maintain your results. Contact Sadeghi Center For Plastic Surgery today for more info!
