How Is a Breast Augmentation Performed?
Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure that typically takes one to two hours to perform under general anesthesia.
Depending on the techniques being used, an incision will be made under the breast, around the areola, or in the armpit. Through these, a breast pocket is created above or below the chest muscle, and an implant is inserted into that pocket. (Saline implants are filled after implantation; silicone implants are pre-filled). Incisions are then closed.
What Is Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation?
Women desiring a subtle, natural-looking increase can undergo fat transfer breast augmentation (natural breast augmentation).
With this technique, fat is removed from the body using gentle liposuction (to preserve the integrity of the fat). This fat is purified and then injected into various regions of the breasts to increase fullness.
While this technique replicates the look and feel of natural breasts and helps slim body contours, it cannot achieve the same level of breast enhancement as implants.
Therefore, some women choose to combine implants with their fat transfer.
Should I Combine Breast Lift Surgery With My Breast Augmentation?

What Should I Expect After My Breast Augmentation?
How Long Does It Take to Recover From Breast Augmentation?
Pain after breast augmentation is mild, but you should expect some soreness and swelling.
While some women feel back to normal after one week, most take about six weeks to recover completely. Sedentary, desk-type type jobs can be resumed after one week.
After your breast augmentation, your breasts will need extra support, and you should use a support bra at all times in the weeks following your surgery. A support bra provides extra stability and some compression to help reduce swelling and pain.

Does Breast Augmentation Leave Scars?

Frequently Asked Questions About Breast Augmentation
How painful is it to get breast implants?
Pain is usually mild after breast augmentation. However, you should expect some discomfort and soreness, similar to the pain associated with getting a bruise. Dr. Sadeghi will provide you with proper pain medications and suggestions for making your recovery more comfortable.
