Cosmetic Surgery for Men

Highlight Your Masculine Physique With Face and Body Contouring Procedures

While it is often marketed to women, plastic surgery is not only for women. At the Sadeghi Center for Plastic Surgery, we understand that men benefit just as much from cosmetic plastic surgery and have as much interest in maintaining sculpted physiques and youthful facial contours.

Dr. Ali Sadeghi offers body and face contouring procedures tailored to male physiques in New Orleans, Louisiana.

What Is Cosmetic Surgery for Men?

Even though many of the surgical techniques used during male plastic surgery are the same as for women’s procedures, the goals often vary considering the different anatomy and cosmetic desires.

Therefore, all plastic surgery techniques must be tailored to fit and highlight the male silhouette.

What Are the Benefits of Male Plastic Surgery?

Men turn to plastic surgery to:

  • Trim and tighten their physique by eliminating fat pockets
  • Use etching techniques to define contours, such as a six-pack or pectoral muscles
  • Eliminate excess skin that resulted from weight loss
  • Achieve a more masculine physique
  • Create chiseled, more defined facial features

Is Male Plastic Surgery Right for Me?

Men considering plastic surgery should be in good overall health and close to their ideal weight. Additionally, candidates for male plastic surgery should not smoke or have any health conditions that can impair their healing ability.

Dr. Sadeghi will evaluate your body contours and medical history during your consultation to determine if male plastic surgery is right for you.

What Male Body Contouring Procedures Create Definition?

Liposuction

Liposuction removes exercise and diet-resistant fat deposits in the body. For men, these deposits often develop in the abdomen (beer bellies), hips (love handles), arms, and chin. Liposuction is performed by making small incisions near the treatment area through which hollow tubes (cannulas) are inserted. These cannulas disrupt and suction out unwanted fat cells for a slimmer and trimmer look.

Lipo360

Lipo360 is performed on men to address the abdomen, love handles, and lower back. This liposuction technique addresses the circumference of the midsection to highlight men’s physiques with or without shirts.

Abdominal Etching

Abdominal etching (using hi-def liposuction) is a technique where the liposuction cannula only removes small amounts of fat to create definition. The goal of abdominal etching is to achieve the look of natural abdominal muscles (the six-pack). By removing fat in specific locations, Dr. Sadeghi can mimic and create a highly athletic and chiseled midsection.

Fat Grafting

Fat grafting is a two-for-one procedure that harvests fat from unwanted locations (like the abdomen and love handles) and transfers it to places in need of additional volume. In men, this fat may be transferred to the chest to create the look of defined pecs or transferred to the face.

Fat Banking

Some men undergoing liposuction may choose to save their fat in a fat bank until they are ready to transfer it to another part of their body.

Masculinization Liposuction

Masculinization liposuction is commonly performed for female-to-male transgender patients looking to minimize their feminine curves and enhance masculine contours. Commonly, liposuction is performed in the breasts (for those with minimal breast tissue), hips, buttocks, and thighs.

Tummy Tuck Surgery

Much like women, men collect fat in their lower abdomen. This can lead to unflattering and undefined contours. Tummy tuck surgery is performed to remove unwanted fat and skin from the midsection.

Gynecomastia Surgery

Gynecomastia is a condition characterized by excess tissue and fat in men’s chests, giving them the appearance of women’s breasts. Gynecomastia surgery addresses this excess by using a combination of liposuction (for excess fat) and surgical excision (for excess tissue and skin).

CoolSculpting®

CoolSculpting® is a non-surgical approach for fat removal. This treatment uses cooling technology to freeze unwanted fat cells in areas such as in the abdomen, hips, thighs, or neck, which are then naturally processed from the body.

Emsculpt®

Emsculpt® helps men achieve ideal gym bodies by strengthening muscles and creating definition. This non-surgical treatment used HIFEM® technology to stimulate muscles contractions, which in turn builds muscle. One 30-minute Emsculpt® session is the equivalent of performing 20,000 sit-ups or squats, meaning that men can achieve much more dramatic results than what is possible with natural exercise.

Most men require a series of four treatments.

Outstanding care. Beautiful results.

What Male Facial Procedures Contribute to Chiseled Features?

Facelift and Neck Lift Surgery

Facelift and neck lift surgery is performed to amplify men’s rugged, masculine features by lifting facial tissues, tightening sagging skin, removing double chins, and smoothing out wrinkles.

Chin Implants

Firm, defined, and squared-off chins and jawlines are considered to be some of the most desirable male facial features. Men can choose chin implants to increase their chin’s projection and alter its shape.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery addresses laxity on the upper and lower eyelids to rejuvenate the eye area and open up men’s range of vision.

Brow Lift Surgery

Brow lift surgery (forehead lift) is performed on men to smooth the forehead and lift the brows so that they do not put pressure on the upper eyelids.

Rhinoplasty

Men choose rhinoplasty to address cosmetic issues like nasal humps or bumps, flared nostrils, crooked noses, or drooping nasal tips. They also turn to rhinoplasty (nose surgery) to address cosmetic and functional concerns after facial trauma (such as sports injuries or car accidents).

BOTOX® Cosmetic

Men often choose BOTOX® Cosmetic injections (or similar Dysport® or Jeuveau® injections) to address lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth (including crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead lines). Many men want to restore more youthful contours, whether they want to re-enter or remain in the business world, the dating world, or simply want to eliminate common signs of aging.

How Much Does Plastic Surgery for Men Cost in New Orleans, LA?

The cost of your male plastic surgery will vary depending on the surgeries performed. Dr. Sadeghi will provide you with an accurate cost estimate during your consultation that will include the procedures chosen as well as facility fees, operating room fees, anesthesia fees, and surgeon’s fees.

How Long Is Recovery After Male Plastic Surgery?

The length of your recovery will depend on the procedures you underwent and the extent of correction. Non-surgical treatments, like CoolSculpting® or Emsculpt®, require little-to-no downtime and should only result in minimal (if any) discomfort.

Surgical procedures may require one to two weeks of downtime before you can return to work and non-strenuous activity. Strenuous exercise, including running, weight lifting, and strength training, should be avoided for at least six weeks.

Dr. Sadeghi will provide more detailed instructions regarding what you can expect during your male plastic surgery recovery period.

Are My Male Plastic Surgery Results Permanent?

The results of your male plastic surgery will be permanent as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle and stable weight. No plastic surgery procedure prevents you from gaining weight or stops the natural aging process, and your results may change over time. However, even with this process, your results will never be negated.
